1600 engines

I read somewhere that the eight valve 1600cc block was available in different sizes - small block and big block. Is this true?
Which 8-valve 1.6 block will be a straight fit into my 1.3SR - Astra, or Cav?

Nova GTE/GSI, Astra/Cav Mk3, and Corsa GSI which has a 16 valve head, but I think the block is the same - these all have the small block.
Astra/Cav Mk2 had the big block, which requires the same mods to fit as the 1.8/2.0/LET

the 1.6 will not fit onto your existing gearbox (f10) so you will need the f13 box as well

there was a CAV big block 1600 8v

the astra and nova engines

astra (E16SV)

nova (E16SE)

are the same block and a small block so will fit direct into your 1300 sr

so a Mk3 Cav has a 1600 8v small block ?

this is the same bottom end as the nova GSI etc ?

The Mk3 is the model that you always see around yeah ?
