according to Haynes, Mk1 1.2's have a 12ST, and Mk2 1.2's have C12NZ.

...If thats's the case, can anyone tell me what a 12NV is doing in my Mk2 1.2...? :? :D

youd have a mk2 3dr carbed 1.2 flair, its an opel engine with 2 bhp less than the uk ones and a hint more toruqe, not that you'd notice.


engine parts are the same except for the spi engine

that's better :D does feel a bit stronger than the 12ST in my saloon though.

12NV can be found in mk2 1.2s that are not specifically labeled 1.2i or merit+

so wots mine? the car is a red 3 door mk2 1.2 flair carb on a J-plate Jan 91? how many bhp is that?

dont you read?!


a) look at your engine number and find the spec for it

b) take approx 5-10bhp off that for the age of the engine

then you'll have an idea lol
