What To do?

Ok i have a problem with my engine. It has started burning oil :( and so i want to get it sorted befor it gets much worse. I know it is the piston rings and i have done a compression test. So do I do the following as money is abit tight.

1) Just take apart the engine I have in now and get it sorted
2)get hold a 1.3 head and new 1.4 bottom end and have it all sorted (Head Ported and Poslished and the bottom end reborded) and put it back together.
3)Get rid of it. Don't really want to do this.

if it has started burning oil, it is not necessarily the rings. but they probably will be a bit worn.

the valve seals can leak quite badly, and if the head is coked up, the valves won't seat very well, causing bad compression.
the breather can clog up with age, causing overpressure in the crankcase, and causing it to get past the pistons.

the best thing to do is remove the head & have a poke about.

what size motor is it??

If it is a 1.3, reboring and fitting 1.2 pistons gives 1.4l
