Stripped my gearbox to bits to change my final drive. I was changing from a 3:98 to 4:18 in my F10. Only to discover that it already has a 4:18 crown wheel and pinion!!

Yeah i cant, a bit!

At least i've now learned how to work on gearbox's! Thanks to Cambridge!! :D

Now for sale, mint 4:18 crown wheel and pinion ;)

keith what difference would it make fitting that final drive (may be interested and would it go into a gsi box and make any difference if not will go in the sr one )

It would make a fair bit of difference i'd think. Better acceleration but less top end!

you get about 3-5% knocked off your top end (roughly) and drop about 0.3-0.5ish off your 0-60/ 1/4 mile times depending on the engine

its a good mod, i found a 4.29 and im gonna try that when i get her going

Doh! You didnt buy that 4:18 from that guy did you? You were saying he wanted some crazy amount for it. If so, you should be able to return it and get a full refund.

Perhaps Keith didnt know where to look for the stamp. I didnt know where it was until cambridge pointed it out.
