looks good mate but i will say that it may be worth changing to boots on your steering rack now you have painted them as they may crack with the paint and fail your next mot,

i love these work in progress threads, seeing cars coming along...
Looking very cool mate, wish i could get insured on an XE.
well today started really well. Engine in, mounts made, all bolted up. Started getting the engine ready for the first run, started from the bottom working towards the top, all going smoothly until... the gear selector was stuck, the box wouldnt come out of gear. 5 hrs messing, trying different things until it would select a gear. So in that 5 hrs we could have done wiring, adapted exhaust, done water pipes, fitted radiator and fan etc, then just wait for the driveshafts to turn up on wed, but looks like we might have to be busy all week now   . But should still be ready for the bbq next sunday.
Chris
unlucky mate
just keep thinkin
"these things are sent to test us"
chris you are a fucking star.
the work is top notcg stuff.
as everyone can see, the work he is doing is really class work.
big thanks matey.
It does indeed look like a awesome example of how a conversion should be done.
Well done Chris and congrats on sorting out the selector etc!
And good luck Sean, might see you Sunday at the BBQ!
Glad you sorted out the selector, was suprised when Will said you were strugling as it was working fine when i was drove it home!
Sean did you see the cav it came out of when you bought the doors?
yes mate i did, it had a giant on tow sign stuck the back of it.
can you remember what year it was, i think it was a j-plate.
yes it was a J plate on 1992 IIRC.
have had a look about for the papers but i think i threw them in the shell when it got collected.
no worries, all insurance etc is all sorted now.
upwards and onwards as they say
Good good.
You having the T45's put straight on or you going to get used to the standard lot to start with?
running the car in first. then putting them on.
just got wiring to sort now and shaft to do. Then it should be all go go go. Will get some pics up tomoz of how it is looking now
