Could someone tell me if this pic a fuel pressure regulator?
It's from my '91 GSi.
If not a regulator then what is it?
Also how much roughly from Vauxhall?

Mine leaks optimax like it's going out of fashion!!

No one knows what it is?
It sits by the rear drivers side wheel just after the fuel pump.

basically yes. its often called a damper. should be able to get one from a scrappy for peanuts

yes it is a damper, it helps take the shocks out of the fuel pressure, ensuring smooth fuel delivery. they cost about ?40 from the dealer. you cam run without it, using a piece of metal pipe as a joiner. I would not recommend doing this for long though. the fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail (near the injectors)

what happens if you run for long with out one as i had one on mine but it was correded and leaking fuel out of it

mines been running without one for yonks perfectly fine

the idea is say u snap the throttle closed, flow rate changes dramatically as the injectors close down, for a split second the pressure spikes then falls once regulator catches up - that damper is designed to take some of that shock away from the pump itself
