it is highly recommended when lowering more than 40mm that you uprate the dampers as well.

As for the rubbing, it depends on the offset of the alloys and the tyre wall size. If it does rub then you'll just have to get the arches rolled at a bodyshop, to help them clear the wheels.

With 15's you should have too much of a problem though if the alloys are a suitable offset.

Is it a 5-door though? Because if so, look at my car in my sig, that has 15" alloys on standard suspension and im going to lower it 60mm. The arches are completely standard and not rolled at all....5-doors have a lot more arch clearance and you can easily fit 17's to a 5-door.

for a 5-door that would probably be spot on mate, i reckon on mine with 15's and lowered 60mm i will have probably 10-15mm arch clearance, so with 16's on, the arches would be right down over the wheels.

i have 16s an about 80mm drop on the back, an mine rubbed quite bad. i had to cut out the lip on the arch an use 5 mm spacers to stop it from rubbing on the shocks. but then again i have a negative chamber on the back an that doesnt help.
