View Full Version : 4-2-1 manifolds for 1.3SR
Has anyone got any pictures of any 4-2-1 manifolds. Any information on who makes them or where they are available from would be helpful too.
off topic, where in hertford?
so i can avoid you lol
on topic
try www.raldes.co.uk for an ashley manifold and system (4-1)
or www.eurorallye.co.uk same kinda thing
Thanks for that I've seen them already, I am looking for 4-2-1 not 4-1 manifolds.
there are very few places that supply 4-2-1's for novas, unless you make one or get one specially made.

What is the difference? summin to do with more torque lower down the rev range on the 4-2-1??
or go to a scrappy and get one off a nova gte/gsi sr or sri depending on your car.
a 4-2-1 can give 5% more low down torque but you might lose/not gain at top end
a 4-1 loses 5% low down and gains more at top end.
you could use the std 4-2 cast manifold and twin down pipe setup i guess
Would prefer proper tubular job rather than cast std part. Thanks for the info so far.

a 4-2-1 is good but the primary runners on the cast jobbie arnt really long enuf
Waht I mean is youi probably wont notice any difference between the two types, but a general improvement over the cast manifold. Have had both on my engine I can say I havn't noticed much differnce, except the 4-1 has free'd the engine lots over 6k which was resticted with the 4-2-1 I had on it. janspeed 4-2-1 and a hand built ashely 4-1. I noticed no mid range/low end differences. an ashely 4-1 would be fine and they are good value for money.

yes sr's have 4-2-1 as standard.
So going from a standard 4-2-1 sr manifold to a 4-1 Ashley/janspeed will improve power a bit? but lose torque low down
correct?
