Picking up my smooth boot on friday and need a place to put my rear plate and keep it light.

Thought about cutting into bumper and adding another light upside down

or

double sided sticky tape and put plate in same position as is now

btw i have a standard rear bumper

any ideas?

its not an easy problem. when i had a standard bumper i just screwed it right at the bottom of the bumper to make the car look lower without actually lowering it!
at the minute i've lit it with a clear side repeated lense on a slight angle. you just get a bulb holder from a side light from a scrappy and a numberplate light can be any colour and its legal!

liking blue at the minute :P

dont put it where it was originally. no point smoothing boot off if ur gonna do that(my opinion anyway)
the law says u cannot have a white light displaying outwards from the back of a car unless its for reversing. thats y number plate lights have that shroud around them.
u can get inserts to go into ur bumper for the plate. dont ask me where!

enough people do stick it back onto the boot but your right it does seem like what was the point!

nope thats not good enough...be ashamed
:D
if you dont need to get it through an mot then just fix it to the rear bumper. never got stopped for mine

as much as i hate myself for doing it cant ignore 'lighted'...lit?
when it was on the bumper it wasn't light at all but it never bothered me, especially if your looking for another bumper.
the boot is much easier if you want to keep it legal :|

i think there was a post about this a little while ago and somebody said about using those washer jes(w@nker lights) because they are very direct so wouldn't shine at other cars?

just recess it in the middle or to the side as an import size plate...then if its recessed you can use a normal number plate light....
