dont we all want cheap insurance

if it was that easy, we'd all be doing it.

Theres no way you're gunna be able to get "cheap" insurance on a GTE at 18 with no no claims.. (unless as a second driver, which i dont condone, cause insurance companies aren't thick)..

If it was gunna cost me ?1600 @ 18 with 1 years NCB on a GTE, then its not lookin that promising..

if you're wanting the GTE insured, you'll have to pay the high premium like most of us do..

hey i tried about 40 insurance companies for my 1.4sr and im 19 and the cheapest i got was from adrian flux however when i was sent the paper work i rung to ask about a cover note and they jumped my premium up by 120.sed i was given the wrong quote amount in the first place.which i obviously was not happy about!!! so the cheapest now i have is ?575 with pass + with norwich union. all other companies were rubbish and expected me to pay over 1000 for a car i paid ?100 for.do they think i off my head. :o

LOL..that was with LV  hence why its taken me another year to get another NCB added..so that it does go down (lookin at about ?980 standard) for a GTE. (it was last year the ?1600 was quoted..)

Lolly..if you want to drive a nova, you'll have to stick with these high premiums. The nova is known as "boy racer", so companies shove up the premium as they have a lot of young claims in a vaux nova (especially high power). Think yourself lucky you got a quote for ?575 now on a 1.4, cause im paying ?508 with 2 years NCB on a 1.2. (yes it is slightly modded..)

btw, what you paid for the car is irrelevant to insurance premiums..they dont give two hoots what you paid for it, all they care about is what it will cost them in the event of a claim. and young driver (+ nova) + power = disaster.. (normally..)

ahh, the "rapid" bonus scheme from NU..

no wonder it was that price, then, cause you would be looking at much higher for a full 12 months premium. btw, mine was a 12 month policy, and has been since my 17th b/day, so i've earned it properly :P

try getting limited mileage quotes might not help too much but guestimate how many miles you need to do in a year an see what it comes out with.
an pass plus always helps.

other than that not much you can do until your risk decreases with age + driving exp.
