How about i buy the from Maplins for ?7 and sell them back to you for ?19, thus making myself some easy money AND undercutting the 'best price' of ?20?

And not, this is not a pointless post from me, or even one of comedy. Look within and you shall find.

They are in my car but are not the most reliable things I have used. Already on 3rd drivers door one but that might be down to the bodyshop has I haven't had a problem in months with it.

Yeah, Maplins do them for ?7 or so.

What happened to yours then Al? I used to have one (unknown make) that used to shorcircuit all the time. I'd be driving along and the door would just go haywire and start locking and unlocking itself for no reason!! lmao

I fitted two maplins ones tho when my doors were de-locked and de-handled and i haven't had a single problem for over a year yet.

Also, why not just use the one's fitted in the doors as standard central locking ones? Go to a scrapyard and get some for pennies. Or for boot, get the switch and solenoid off somethng like a Mk3 Fiesta/Escort. Tried and tested.

I think they are fine to be honest but the bodyshop that sprayed it reckoned the drivers side one blew twice and they had to replace it. I personally think they were just holding the door button down and not releasing it as this is the only way I have ever managed to 'blow' one. I know my wiring was spot on and hasn't caused a problem since.

yeah i dont recomend the maplins ones purely for the fact ive read a couple of post on here that they arn't up to the job

Maplins only sell the solenoid for ?7 not the complete kit inc wiring, mounting bracket, push botton, fuse etc..
