in reality if you are only a few days out you will probably get about a ?40 fine if anything. ?1000 fine can be given but im not sure if it ever has been

to be honest you could say you didnt realise it ran out and thought it was the end of the month, and say how much of an idiot you are for driving without an MOT, play dumb, and say you'll book it in for 2morow.

might say ok, might not, its risky.

?30 fine

If its booked in for a retest then your fine as long as the part at the bottom of the sheet hasnt been ticked where it says that the car is unsafe to drive.

I've been done twice for no MOT over the years, ?25 fine the first time and ?40 fine the second. Both a few years ago now though.
