2.0 conversion

im in the middle of doin me xe conversion i fitted a new clutch plate to the box as the old clutch was fooked i then put the box on to the engine ,fitted the engine rewired it all put all pipes on and then i discovered the clutch lever where the cable attaches has loads of play in it.
you can move the lever bout 2 inches back and forth by free hand and i aint used to f20 boxes but im sure this aint rite .
coz on me f13 i had to sorta prize the lever over with a bar to be able to release the clutch cable from the lever then the lever sprung back with a lot of force

but this aint happenin on the f20 so if you can shed some lite on me problem please help

my F16 box in my nova has about 2 inches play. I'm sure this aint right either, so ive got the same question as you.
