or were there sum 8v???

or were there 1.8's.

i thought they were all 2.0 8v only the later shape came out with 2.0 16v with an ecotec type engine.
if they were 2.0 16v red top engines wouldnt they be gsi's ?

yes but they were still red top or L top both are 150bhp
only the straight ecos are 136bhp

As for the 1.8 SRi's...the only 1.8's were MKII's.

Also, all MKIII Cav SRi's with the 8V engine had 130PS, whereas with the MKII, normal later models had 115PS, and only the SRi130 got the 130PS engine.

Strangely, the old 1.8i also had 115PS, the same as the 8V 2.0! The 2.0 has a good bit more torque though.

It was in about October 86 that the Cav SRi gained the 2.0 8V version which was available along side with the 1.8i
Also at the same time the Astra GTE also gained the 2.0 8V engine to replace the 1.8i

By 88, the Cav 1.8 was history, with it only available as a 2.0 (115PS), or 2.0 (130PS)

Do I get extra points for that ;)
