fiesta Si engine swap

my mate has a fiesta Si and we are thinking about sticking a 1.8 escort Gti(130) engine in it, anyone done this? or have any info on it?

i thought the gti escort was a 2.0 16v
the si i thought was the 1.8 16v

also if u search for a forum called escort evolution they might be able to help u out more + r kids a memeber of that forum

the gti is a 1800, the engine in question will be coming out of my mates brother in law's car (to make way for a rs2000 engine, 2L 150 bhp).

escort evolution site is pant's. i know one of the guys who run it. he was trying to tell me how his 1.6 escort is as fast as a saxo vts because they both have a 1.6 16v and the saxo is only a little lighter :roll:

not sure if I'm getting confused with 1.8 and 2.0 zetec differences here, but I think you have to use some of the 1.6 ancillaries as the accessory belt setup from the 1.8 wont fit in the bay properly, this means you also have to change to the 1.6 water pump as the vanes go different ways.

that may be complete crap applying only to 2.0 stuff if at all :lol:

but worth checking out
