hi all..fitted my 1.2spi with new sparks and h.t leads this weekend and also had 2 take the air box off,the mental bit that goes 2 the exhaust manifold n 2 the front panel 2 drg air in..now iv taken it off the car runs crap at idle is this the cause not havin this bit of mental on there?? are is it because of new spartks n h.t leads thnks

Hi there, I have got a Nova 1.2 SPi that I am having a few problems with, please could someone help. I have fitted new HT leads and plugs. I removed the metal tubing that drags hot air from the exhauxt manifold and now it doesnt tick over very well. Do you think it is because of the metal tubing missing or something to do with the leads or spark plugs.

Any help will be welcomed

Not a bad translation me thinks.

I doubt very much that the hot air ducting will affect it, maybe check that leads are fitted correctly (pushed right on to dizzy and plugs etc) also did you check the gap on the plugs?

i done the same thing when i changed my plugs and leads, if i sounds like a V8 then u havnt pushed the leads on the plugs or the dizzie properly.

ok i'll try the h.t leads and push them rite on..if the will go any more..now iv removed the metal bit of the end of the air box its now got a big hole 2 suck air in will this improve induction and may be slighty very slighty performance its got a k.n replacement element

i fitted new plugs and leads a while back. i checked the 1st plug to see if the gap was correcrt, it had the right size gap so i assumed all of the new plugs would have the right gap. When all were fitted it was runnin on three cylinders. The last spark plug had no gap in it atall, shocked i didnt realize :oops: . maybe you have something like this?

thnks 4 that m8..i'll check em 2nite as its still runing ruff iv checked the h.t leads and they are fine cylinder 4 h.t lead its abit loose but its fully on so dont think its that

the first thing i did 2 my 1.2spi was rip all that ducting pipe and connectors off, it ran fine and made th ecar slightly more responsive and a bit louder.

wot connectors m8?? iv removed the front bit of pipe of the airbox the metal bit..cars still bein cr*p checked it all 2nite n nothing is loose..

With HT leads it is possible to put them on without the connector being on properly. e.g. the boot/gator holds it on there. or they are in the wrong order

from top right anti clockwise on dizzy:

1 - 3 - 4 - 2

block is 1 on left 4 on right.
