View Full Version : why do things that are meant to be easy take ages!

trying to change all my engine mounts, got the fonrt on in, but cant get the bottom bolt in at all, and just spent 5 hours trying to change my rear engine mount, and got abosultely no where with it!

I realy cant be bothered no more, just so fed up with it.

If anyone wants to earn ?20 then come gimme a hand. but i just dont care anymore trying to do it by myself!

how come its taking you so long mate. are the bolts rusty or something, i did the engine one and the rear gearbox one in half an hour the other day out in the street. make sure you have the engine suppored under the gearbox or somewhere solid before you undo the rear one or the engine will turn and whack the bulk head. not good for the manifold.

dont even start on the rear engine mount, that really p*sses me off on mine. No matter what you do it wont line up, have fun

yeah phill im the same, it just wont line up anywhere, got the engine on a jack, all properly so it dont damage sump.

Ive got the rear bolt on the rear mount in and the long on, its just the front bolt, needs to go like 1mm to the right, and wont budge!

left it for today, gonna have another go 2morow, with a fresh head.

nah phill its not any prolems with getting any bolts off, its trying to get the mounts and holes lined up! think if i remove the grear box mount the i might be able to get the rear one in.

trust me, iv had this problem. Always makes you feel better letting rip with a 9inch angle grinder.
