View Full Version : sel-imperial panels
As topic, has anyone bought these before? Reason i ask is that i'm buying some panels to fix my GTE, but wondered if they fitted alright, or if someone had horror stories from them?
Also, does anyone (Admin?) know if the 50% discount for NL members offer they had given us last year (or so) is still there and valid?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks :)

yeh mel. the offer still stands, i just go some front wings for the GTE about 2 months ago, paid ?40. and they are great did not need to do any work to them at all. they did not have a aerial hole though!!
hope this helps.
bruce
thanks bruce.
did you ring them up and order them, or do it online? how did you get the 50% off? (i mean, where did u tell them that you were from novaload, and about the discount?) lol..thanks again btw
I'm sure this post would help others who have asked the same as well :)

mel, i remember seeing a topic about it posted by andy or someone else not sure. and it told you where to type in novaload. but i cant find it. sorry for not being that helpfull maybe someone else will come on and know where to enter novaload on the sel site.
bruce
i'm glad that offer still stands
i'm sure i saw the post were it tells you how to get the disscount
yeah its in the sticky of Novaload.net Links, by andy.. (top of general.)
i know where the post is, i meant i dont know where the section of adding company name was etc..
Mel your much better off getting original GM stuff if you can afford it.. its roughly double the price.
I had sel imperial wings and grill on my old blue nova, took my bodyshop ages to get the wings to sit right, ended up taking a load of material off them..
Also the grill was very shoddy, the clips snapped off straight after putting it on the car.
I agree with breeny. I have had aftermarket front wings before and they were a nightmare to fit, also the front panel on mine is aftermarket and that was a complete b@stard to fit. IMO it is worth saving up and going for OE stuff, as it is less hassle getting them on.

all i was saying guy was, that my wings lined up perfect and had no trouble fixing them down. ?? but as breeny says if you do have the cash then get the GM items. but i had no trouble with sel.
bruce
yeah my sr had aftermarket wings on it and they didnt fit right
the proplem with sel imperial parts is they are made using copys of the original moulds so it would be the luck of the draw sometimes you can get panels that are perfect and sometimes you can have real problems fitting them

Sel Imperial are shite and i shall not be dealing with the in the future.
Placed 2 orders for quite a lot of items (not just my Nova), and they never even arrived. I have friends in the body-repair trade so just asked them to source stuff using their suppliers. Just as cheap, and a lot quicker.
Either get second-hand stuff that's on excellent condition (if it exists lol) or original GM stuff.
Thanks guys, will bear it in mind..looks like a day phoning around for prices tomorrow then..
friggin nova's...god knows why i love the lil rust buckets so much
