5 Door Petrol Caps........

I've looked evrywhere, and come to the conclusion that you cant get an aluminium sports cap for a 5-door. Shite. AAAAANYWAY, i've brought a nice, standard locking one.

My question is, with five doors, theres a rubber collar that protects the bodywork from the fuel tap when u fill up. The collar runs from behind where the fuel enters, and surrounds the fuel cap area.

Mine's a bit knackered, and was wondering if its possible to get hold off a new collar, either off ebay, or direct from vauxhall.

i want a 5 door but i was told the same problem about an ally filler cap by my m8. y wnt a normal 1 fit?

yeah smitty asked me iff they make a alloy fuel filler cap for the five door
and i think you can get a new coller from vauxhall, because they still stock bumpers so why not other parts?

yeh i have been looking out for alloy caps for the 5-door for ages. I would assume that Vauxhall still stock the rubber collars.

I have seen a 5-door with an alloy fuel cap but cant remember where i saw it - it might have been someone on here...

I am going to try and find it and get some information about where the cap is from, it might be that you can buy an alloy cap for a completely different car and it fits.

But if you removed (or ripped out) the rubber collar, exposing the body underneath, maybe then would the 3-door Dimma style would actually fit?

I dont wanna try it cos it would mean about 30 squid down the shi**er if it doesn't work.

If anyone can find a less destructive alternative, let me know

OR, maybe there are ones from different cars that fit..........?

nope ive tried it mate, i ripped off the rubber coller thingy and the 3-door cap still wouldnt fit - the barrel of the cap - the part that locks it into place physically isnt long enough.

Looks like a plan, but what does it mean by two piece?

The actual cap being one piece, and some sort of base being the second?

first peice 1 would be bonded/rivited/screwed onto the car then peice 2 would be just like a normal fuel cap and it would "lock" into peice 2
