why not try looking on the net somewhere, you might be able to find it in parkers or summat like that, or if you search for it you are likely to get review links up, they are likely to have stats in

It embarreses me to see the narrow mindedness of some people from this site.

The 106Gti was in the top 3 of "5th Gears" best all time current cars for it's handling.

I drive a Clio on a daily basis and it is so much nicer to drive than a Nova.

Grow up you lot and stop being so offensive about non-vauxhall cars!

i've spoke to dan jim and he's made me relise that i was wrong
i was going to buy a pug 205 before i got the nova so i was being a bit NARROW MINDED

It wasn't a direct comment at you Mike, I'm just getting tired of seeing people bad mouth non-vauxhall cars. Theres no need for it. Novaload is better than this!

There are other car makes apart from Vauxhall?
 :?

Seriously though - knock it on the head as it gives people an impression that we're a bit narrow minded and blinkered, fair enough you're free to like whatever car brand and dislike whatever car brand you choose - but not liking something just because it doesn't have a griffin on the bodywork is a bit daft!!

theres just something about french cars that people don't like

what ever is that supposed to mean, Dan is right, french cars are known for producing some of the best handling cars in the world, they make cars with cute looks and have some of the best selling hot hatches around.

Pug 106 GTI was rated 2nd best handling car in the world in 1998 just behind the Ferrari 550 and in front of the lotus elise.

As for not wanting to s h i t in one, i rest my case

Why is it below the belt? He's just "putting his views across" like you say you are.
So lets just leave it at that and stop the petty bickering please.

my views are civil, and informing people of how good french cars can be, not slating another car with harsh words, id hardly call it putting his views across

Generally for me Italian cars are shit, as are french, english, spanish, japanese, you get the picture, all apart from american cars.

I want a AC Cobra 8)

Who cares what who likes, as long as it has 4 wheels (have a phobia of robin reliants after seeing robin reliant banger racing) and an engione and gets from a to b quicker than walking does, its fine by me...

PS French cars are cool, look at the cliov V6 :D

Mike.
17-08-04, 04:55 PM
the new clio v6 is one cool car its mental
only the french could come up with some thing that crazy :D :D
the old renault 5 with the engine in the back is better though even though it did look like a shoe

anyway back to the original pont im sure the 1.6 pug(later ones) had the same engine as the saxo vtr meaning its around 90 to 100bhp which is really underpowered considering the 306's weight

Correct, if you are after a little bit of poke a 1.6 is a waste of time, ur better off going for a 1.8 XS or want more power XSI, or the GTI-6

im not banging on about racing stuff, just replying to Dans post if u read. He said about the 1.2 trying to keep up with this 1.6 pug306, i simply mentioned in terms of performance the 1.2 is very similar to 1.4
