1.2 with gsi wheels

how come when i got my 1.2 it had gsi wheels on but there was a massive gap under the arch between the wheel and the inner arch, is the nova gsi wider, i hav now put 50mm spacers at the bk and 5mm at the front and lowered it 60mm all round, but i was just wondering.

the only thing i can think mate is

1. some gsi wheels had a different offset
2. ur arches have been rolled as it had wider wheels on or wheels or a wrong offset

also when i lowered it i just replaced the rear springs and left the shocks standard but the front springs(spax)came with some shocks they had orange legs and an opel sign on the rubber dirt protection gaiter, any1 know what these shocks are off.
