View Full Version : internal fuel pump?

i'm currently looking for an mpi tank for my nova. when looking i came across the gsi tank on sel-imperial website which says "internal pump" does this mean that the fuel pump is inside the tank? as this would save me from mounting one at the back.

i wasnt aware that any nova had an internal fuel pump, are there any tanks with internal pumps that would fit (corsa sri/gsi for instance?)

1.2spi ans 1.4spi had internal pumps.... no others did

you need to uprate the pump if running a mpi engine mk5 scort pump fits

its an sri engine (car used to be a carb) so just looking for mpi tank. i already have the sri's fuel pump but dont really like the way they just "hang on" at the rear of the car.

A SRi pump will be a MPi pump and therefore will the same as a GSi/GTE one.

I have a injection fuel tank that had a SPi internal pump, all I done was fit a GSi/GTE MPi internal pump.

I know your the Nova god, but are you sure about that?

I'm sure that some Nova GTE's and GSi's had a internal fuel pump.

Else what the hell is running my X16XE :lol:

the only cars that had internal pumps were the 1.2i and 1.4spi cars... non of the gte/gsi/sri novas did...... if you run a mpi car with a spi tank you need an uprated pump (corsa/vectra/mk5 scort) if you want to uprate more eg let 300bhp+ then a walbro 500bhp escort cossie pump fits

its a carb tank. car is a 1.3sr but now has 1.4sri engine.

therefore tank has no swirl pot and the holes are the wrong size (too small)

i can get petrol to the engine and it runs but the setup is well messy, i'd rather have the proper mpi tank (if anyone has one pm me :) )

either a proper mpi tank with external pump
or a spi tank with mpi internal pump

how would you get the mpi pump into the spi tank (hope that aint a daft question didnt think about it much)
