Hey people!!

Need some help guys'n'gals!! I've heard rumours that the 1.6 8v Vauxhall lump can be customised to run a turbo!?! Any of you heard of this been done before and if so can you tell me where the best place on the net is for a step by step instruction!??!?????? Any information welcome!!!!

if you look in the turbo section on the main site therea some 1600's on there, theres a lad on here call novaneil hes got a 1600 8v running at a tuch over 200bhp if am not wrong :? so yeah it can be done but i dont know were theres a gide sorry.

turbos not that hard m8 u can turbo motorbikes.

cortney (sp?) do a 1.6 turbo conversion and im sure there is others

just looking for a complete guide on how to do the conversion and a list of parts needed in the conversion so I can get a garage to do it for me! Bit cheaper than courtney :lol:

for a cheaper way buy few ice parts buy cd from ebay with "turbo noise" and open window and "pssssss" turbo cheap as chips :wink: :lol: :lol:

Defo not a garage job. Specialist job, or DIY if you got the skills. Absolutely no offence meant but sounds like you don't. Sorry!

Not worth doing half-heartedly. Budget well into four-figure sums (I think, dunno) to do properly. (Turbo, pipework, low comp pistons, forged conrods, etc, etc..)

But if you can stretch to it, WTF do it!!
Never seen a supercharged GTE (hint hint)

turboin a 1.6 8v can be done very cheaply just need to know what you're doing if you're not running stupid amounts of boost theres no need for low comp pistons just a spacer plate and 2 gaskets. then ud need a turbo prob t2 and make up rhe pipework and have some adaptor plates cut then get a microswitch and 5th injector to control the extra fuelling needed then it would be a case of running the oil etc but that is easy
