On-line Gaming

I've just finished reading the post regarding manhunt coming off the shelves and noticed Fester made comments towards Counter-Strike.

So...do any of you lot play any on-line games? If so, what games do you play?

I use to be into Counter-Strike a lot until my pc started playing up :( I use to play BF1942 on a lan at work until we got made redundant :(

As soon as things get themselves sorted and I upgrade my pc, I shall be back playing on-line if any of you lot fancy meeting up for a bit of a shootin' spree.

Multiplayer games are great, I used to play LAN PC games but just play Xbox Live now really. I suppose it still counts as PC gaming :lol:

i manly play BF 1942 and CS

they is a monthly LAN meeting in Leicester, its on all weekend and you can stay the nite if you wish, around 30-40 people turn up and ALL types of games are played, BF1942, CS, generals etc

its held in a pub function room with plenty of parking room.

have a few beers and play a few games

Yep, I think it's lost some appeal due to games like BF/DC and UT2004, but wait until CS Source comes out...it looks amazing :) I'm waiting for HL2 to hit the shelves before I upgrade :D

what was counter strike like\about

There are 2 different sides to choose from, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists. As Terrorists you have to plant a bomb in a certain area, the Counter-Terrorists (CT's) must defuse the bomb before it explodes.

Alternatively the CT's must rescue hostages from a certain area that is being gaurded by the Terrorists.

It's a quick game and once your killed you have to wait until the round is over before you can respawn.

There is a large selection of weapons and armoury that you can purchase at the beginning of each round. You earn money by killing the opposition and if your team wins the round.

You have to buy an original copy of half-life. You should be able to get a copy for a couple of quid out of the bargain bins at any retailers. A copied version will not allow you to play online! Then you need to download an application called Steam...http://www.steampowered.com/

There will be a few other things that need setting up, but that should be all that you need. It's been a while since I played it, lol.
