View Full Version : have i knackard my fuel rail?

problem is i converted my sr to a gte and i put the fuel pipes on the wrong way and my mate wired the fuel pump up to the battery i realised this problem after numoureos attempts to start and now it is massivly over fueling and sounds though the timing is out-but its not my spark plugs are dry and sooty and i have black smoke comming out of my exhaust. the car runs fine over 3-4k rpm injectors? rail? regulator? non of thease

may have damaged the fuel regulator on the rail but i doubt it as its a simple thing and should not just die like that. i had my fuel pipes wrong when i did mine and it took me ages to work out what i had done and it never did any harm to it.

putting the lines on the wrong way round shouldnt do any damage ive done it before an its been fine.

I do it 90% whenever I swap an engine! :oops:

It wont do any damage at all. Ever.

I would say black smoke was more likely to be unburnt fuel.
Sounds like its running rich to be honest.

check the obviuos stuff like leads, cap and r/arm etc...

ok guys swaped my injectors with some others and its okish it hasnt got black smoke any more but sounds like the timing is slightly out but notchs are on cue thats the least of my worrys i need to replace w/pump gasket now-pissing water

WTF HAPPEND TO THE INJECTORS?
