ok hi all my ignition switch has bugged up and needs 2 be completley removed from my car how do i do this?? its the big silver bit that has the key opening and steering lock in it..is there a way 2 remove it and how much is a new 1

Can't fully remember as I removed mine completely but when I did I'm sure you have to put the key in it, turn it to position 1 in the ignition and then poke a piece of metal (I used and allen key) in the small hole near it. When you push this in and wobble it all about the complete ignition barrel and key should lift out. This is all done presumably after you've removed the plastic surround from around the steering wheel.

It's all in the Haynes manual if what I've said doesn't make sense.

my m8 dont it on his nova (as it got broken in 2 made a real mess) took him about 2 hours 2 put a new 1. he had never done it b4.

i used an angle grinder and cut the whole lock off lol
