I am missing an idle valve for my C16SEI engine running on Bosch Motronic 1.5. What will fit? And what engines can I get them from?

I have tried with a valve from an Astra GTE (Bosch nr. 0 280 140 516), but the engine runs crap with it.

While I'm at it, in 1st gear at full load, my engine cuts momentarily out (sounds like it hits a rev limiter for a split second) at around 3-4k rpm. It sometimes also does it in other gears, but not very offen. The ECU gave a fault code 38 (lambda voltage low) once, but doesn't always. I have adjusted the "idle screw", so the engine idles at 1.5k rpm. Could this have something to do with it?

C16SE were engines that were put in mk3 astras and the nova GSI (late K reg ones)

also you could try an idle control valve from the following cars

Nova SRI
Corsa SRI (early 8v)
Astra MK3 1.6 8v

I might have a spare one knocking abt and will have a look later for you

It's originally a 1,2i :P :P

Earlier on today I was told that I needed a bosch nr. 0 280 140 147 idle control valve. Can anyone verify this?

Okay, now I've got hold of an idle valve now. Next question:

One of the ends goes to the manifold, but where does it take the air from? The air filter, or between the AFM and butterfly?

the SEI is a rare irmscher engine similar to the C16SE but using bosch motronic instead of GM Multec injection system

i doubt many folk on here really know anything about the SEI engine cos its so rare, maybe look at other engines fitted with motronic 1.5? im sure the c20xe or maybe c20ne runs motronic 1.5

Are you sure....I have Motronic on mine, according to wiring it comes up as a 1990 GSi engine!!!! That's scary as it can't be an Irmscher one.
