Mk1 - Mk2 Change Over

Ok lads any help here would be much appreciated.

I have a Mk1 Merit which has colour coded (GTE) front and rear bumpers. I am going to buy a Mk2 1.2i (expression I think) Will the GTE bumpers go onto the Mk2?

dont bother mate after faffing about getting them on they'll look stoopid coz the GTE bumper dips down in the middle to allow for the grill whereas the grill on the mk2 is flat - it'll look a bit shit

someone at the MK meet (CP i think) had done that on his, mk2 front end mk1 bumper. Doesn't look shit. I'll be doing the same when i get my next nova.
