right to set the picture:
17'' alloys goodyear fagle f1 tyres (205/40/17) nova rear arches arches ground and folded over to closest they can go.

the problem:
arches skimmed with filler and sprayed but tyres still scrub on arches

anyone know how to either:
push the arches out without cracking the filler/paint as it's gonna cost me an arm an a leg to respray it???
or
a tyre that will go under the arch with a rounder sidewall???

Toyo Proxies have a rounder curve at the edge they might help.

dont quote me on this but as far as i know you cant get 205's under nova arches, you can get 195 or lower but am sure 205's are to big

eagle f1's have a huge rim protector... mine was fine with 195/50 15" fuldas.. with f1's fitted i had to hammer the arches in the tyre shop!

i had 205's on the old car with 17" wheels, i put new wings and arches on it, so flared them as much as possible then, they still occasionally rubbed when i was 4-up. the lips need to be really flush especcially on a mk1 where the rear arches are everso slighty narrower than the mk2's, as ive found with the mk2 shell which is having 16" wg=heels they arealso 205 or 7" wide but only need minor arch folding

so do i
a. try an bang out arch without cracking paint + filler
or
b. spend however much on 4 new tyres an hope it cures it??

they are 45mm (i think) will have a look tonight, took the lip off the arch an bent it round as close as possible an thought that would be good enough  .
thought about saving the trouble an goin for 16's but still want to keep the 17's cos they look good on the car :|
