not sure. ill measure it compared to the other 1.2 head i have in the shed lol
cheers will be a big help :D
forgot to ask - any chance you could do it with a micrometer to get a precise measurement
cheers :D
fookin hell cambridge ya crazy think the pistons will b v v close to valves

weird - i had 15thou off my GTE head and it was into the plug housing more than that, but the 1600 appears to have a much bigger combustion area - is that much smaller combustion zone simply cos its a 1200 head?

Yes, the 1.2 head has the smallest ombustion chamber of all.

blody ell mate. i took 50 thou of the 2.0 8v head and there is still loads more meet on it than that. have you pocketed the pistons to clear the valves.
i noticed you have new valve seats fitted too. they look very restrictive tho. id get the die grinder to it and smooth out all the steps. easy to do and its well worth it while the head is off.
this is one of my inlet ports

wow really what a good idea, i never thought about having the step taken out.
oh and whats restrictive about 3 angle seated 1.6 valves in a 1.2 head? lol
nothing at all..... just i wasnt sure if you were going to get rid of that step that has been m/c,d in to fit the new seat.
Has anyone noticed that Cambridge is getting a little more sarcastic recently? Probably a lack of.....
The head and block have been skimmed to get high compression, and they are just about safe. the 1.2 pistons are already pocketed. The head had larger valves machined in and the porting is going to be my Job with some technical assistance from Stuart. Much cheaper than paying for a big valve head that already been ported.

im getting a tollerable ammount :p
Probably more than us porr married gits!
we still talking about porting??
i wasnt trying to be sarcastic or patronising about the porting thing. its just many people are not as mechanically minded as some of us and would not think of doing anything like that themselves
Stuart is good at the technical stuff, but can't tighten nuts and bolts to save his life!
i did say i hadnt done them up :-p
anyway loose nuts are fast and on the edge of out of control ;)
