ignition switch help!!

ok all this is wots wrong when i turn the key 2 stop the engine and put the steering lock on the ignition lights still stay on eithen if u take the keys out..its already cost me ?40 in a new battery and checked wiring and no faults please any body got any ideas or had this problem then selfs?? thnks

i would check the harness behind the ignition switch mate. Sounds like there could be a short. Have you tried moving the wires about under the column. If it is a short under there I would have thought that the lights would go off when moved about

Also check your earths.
