Lads,

Will the engine and gearbox and three mounts fit upwards through the top of the engine bay (with a bit of twisting) if the radiator and most other ancillaries are still intact in the engine bay?

Or will it have to be dropped through the bottom

I am changing the engine for a very low mileage 1 litre and it would be very handy for me if most of the work could be done from above

Any other points for me for this job would be appreciated

Cheers

lads,
im not for a minute questioning your experience but after reading the H manual it says that the engine must be separated from the gearbox in order to be removed upwards from the car

or is it sucessfully done by lifting one side of the engine totally upwards first until the engine is on its side?

has anyone done this recently to know how it is done this way exactly?
its kind of important to me because it will mean i will have to give the car to a garage if i cannot remove it from the top

Thanks fellas
