yeah still a fair bit of work to do but, im cracking on with it now. im aiming for the end of september, but depends on money and time.

as for the lights not about TV advert, i dont buy it very often now. they are irmscher originals, brand new from a local guy, got em, for ?85. all brackets lamps etc, boxed with an invoice on it from 1996, so never fitted

Wanted to take a welding course last year but it clashed with uni timetable - must try and go this year!

ive never had a course or anything at all to with any kind of vehicle maintenance or engineering, picked it all up over the years, just nearly finished a COMPLETE rebuild of a C20XE, most mechanics i speak to dont seem to have clue

Same here mate, I've learnt most from just having a go. I knew nothing about car wiring before I started out yet now I have rewired the whole car into what it is now. Was the welding hard to learn?

i first messed about when i was 13 doing bits, its not too difficult justtakes a bit of time to knoe what settings to use and a steady hand is a must if you want neat welds, which is what ive just mastered on the latest bit of welding, so one side of the shell is a bit hit and miss whereas the other should look pukka, ill postion that side on in the shows next

Cool mate. Weldings one of the last things I haven't attempted myself but want to learn as its such a useful skill. Keep up the good work

paddle shift

or maybe an internal shifter out of a cav?

running through the bulk head, hence no need for the hole

you got it five door, going for a cav mk3 internal shifter setup as people have sid its more positive, anything is better than the original nova setup, plus it'll sit higher, more to my liking as with the relocated handbrake

What have you painted the gearbox with mate? trying to find something to do mine with, but most paints seem to flake off pretty fast!

hi mart,

i gave it a godd degrease with soluble engine degreaser then a light rub down with a soft wire brush and paitned it with silver hammerite, about four coats in all, might laquer it aswell to keep it looking good, painted my new brembos with it aswell, just gotta get the right laquer now as hammerite can be funny with most paints
