Hi guys! I need help with ths one. I have back nova that has original factory paint over it. The paint has minor damage but still does not look mint... :? I have never resprayed anything in my entire life. Is it worth trying to respray my car myself or is it better to save a bit money and get it done proffesionally? I have also heared about galvanizing car body to protect rusting :?: , again has anyone done this before and is it really worth it?

Thanks a lot!

iff u have never sprayed any thing before i think u should save up and get it respryd professionally, if u did attempt it u would have get a compressor and a fairly open space (would have to be inside and dust free). i would not try and spray the intire car with cans , not a good idea

u could pay anything from 450 up for a respray. if the paint just looks a bit dull n has tiny scratches from washing etc then u could get it proffesionally componded n polished. this will be a lot cheaper. lots of cars u see for sale in garages have this done thats why alot apear to be in better condition than they are. u could even do it urself. get ur compound from a auto paint suppliers.

Deffo avoid spraying a car with cans, it will cost you loads for cans of spray paint, and it won't look anywhere near as good as a bodyshop job.

Best advice mate is look around and go on recommendation of others. Spent two years ferrying my car halfway up and down the country getting it sprayed etc and now, just recently found a place round the corner, recommended by the guy I bought the 1.6 from, who does a fantastic job and much cheaper.
