can i just put the green wire onto my old green rev counter wire?

green/blue - oil gauge

the green can be used for your tacho.

if you strip the sheathing from the harness, you will probably find a lot of wires that can be used for the conversion. all gm wiring harnesses use the same colour scheme, thus green is always tacho/coil.
red/blue is fuel pump feed

blue - temp guage sender wire maybe?
brown/white - diagnostic link iirc
black(thin) - switched ignition 12+ - attach to black wire at coil
red - live to battery
green - rev counter. attach to green at coil
