Great Site.

I have had a Nova SR in the past and ive owned a 2.0 ltr corsa B GSi. I have an RS Turbo at the moment in bits and am going to build a high powered zetec 16 valve turbo engine in the future. However this will take loads of money unfortunately so in the meantime to get me to work and back and of course to put the grin back on my face This week im gonna look for a mint 1.2 merit to get me to work and back (reliable etc). I have a pretty good idea of what I need to do to transplant the C20 LET into the 1.2 shell but if anyone on here can post a list on the forum containing what I need to source in order to complete the conversion with typical costs per item this would be a big help. I want to complete the conversion this summer. I have a big front mount i/c already and some samco hoses and a blow off valve. I want to do the rear beam conversion and V6 brakes up front. What do you need to acquire to do the big brake setup? Bias valve? GTE / GSi master cylinder? HELP NEEDED.
cheers.

www.valvers.com is an awesome resource for pretty much everything!

As for costs, its difficult, as it depends on how much you are willing to do yourself and where you source the parts from.

There are plenty of LETS about but be prepared to spend ?800 plus for a decent lump.
Alternatively buy a Calibra Turbo for ?1k and muller it!

CheeRS guys great welcoming reception what a great friendly site. I have a forum at http://www.rsturboweb.co.uk (just dont mention the font size lol). Its new but should get fairly large i hope.

Whatever you want to know I should be able to help you with.

Its a 1988 Mercury Grey Ford Motorsport Shell with no sunroof and fully seam welded bought by an enthusiast from ford as a "trimmed shell" It was pretty good before the old engine let go and its got patches here and there of rust too so only a full ground up resto is the best way to get her back up and running.

Im pretty handy on the spanners and most parts will be sourced second hand. So it wont be too expensive for me to spend 2000 pounds on this conversion when my RS engine and management alone will be near the 10000 mark.

I drive a knackered Citroen AX for work transport at the mo so I reckon you can all see where im a coming from ;) he he

Great looking motor that. Ill say it now and ive said it before cSpeedlines are the best looking alloy wheel ever made. I like the GSi look however Im more into me "sleepers" to be honest. After what I said about the C20 let Im thinking of just using the C20 le instead for now as IO can afford to get the C20 le fitted straight away may need to save up a bit more to do the let. Im buying my first house you see so I want a project completed start to finish in no more than 8 weeks. I will seamweld the engine bay myself and add a cage at a later date.

Can anyone reccomend any good shock absorbers. Remember this is only a work car so I dont need coilovers. I was thinking Koni. What poundage springs do I need for the front ?

Also to wire up the C20 le? The 1.2 im using am I okay to fit the Nova GTE fuel tank? and is the fuel pump on the nova GTE sufficient for the C20 le? ie pump rate etc (litres per hour) or is a bigger pump needed.

Also can someone explain what front hubs I need as i want to use the ate callipers from the astra GTE.

Also anyone got any info on the rear beam conversion?

Much help would be appreciated.

Cheers
