i have just purchased a "lovely" k reg 1.2i nova 3dr complete with rust(speed) holes.
anyway, i am getting a set of 16" evo-r's with 195/45 tyres (dont know wat width the wheels r but im sure thats 'workouttable' from tyre width)
will i have to modify arches much if i lower it 60mm?
failing that, will 35/40mm springs look ok??

cheers all

yeah you will have too roll the arch back or cut the lip of completly depending how the fit under.

Yep loads!!!

Ideally nova wheels should be 45 to 49mm offset. Any lower and the wheel is gonna stick out more meaning more chance of catching the arch lip, any higher and it'll be closer to the rear suspension strut.

so i'l probably have to get my arch widened 10mm 15 to be safe?
okeydoke

will the car look like its on stilts until i lower it??

tbh with an ofset of 38mm i wudnt bother as it'll not be very wheel bearin friendly and it'll tram line

if u get the correct offset and use 195\45\16 tyres it'll be fine and if its a mk2 u shudnt have to grind the arch lip at all

Don't bother buying the wheels. They will give you so much grief. I had some 15's with a 38mm offset and it was horrible. I had to have my rear arches flared and they looked rubbish. Don't bother with them. Save up and buy yourself some wheels with an offset between 45-49 like the guys have said.

as everyone has said dont bother with the wheels, get some that
are the right offset, i used to have 15s with a 40mm offset and
a 60mm drop and i got nothing but grief from them
