I think I've fried my piston rings

So now I have a few options:

I can get my hands on a GSi lump, 2.0 8V lump and also a C20XE.

Im only 17, so i think the 20XE is way out of the question.

Anyway, Im planning on putting the engine in when im 18, so anyone got any idea's as to what I will get insured on....

If I get the GSi lump it will be going on T40s, the 2.0 8V would be left standard.

All I need to know is whether I could get insured on a 2.0 8V when I'm 18?

I've got a quote on the 1600 lump on 40s ?1.5k now, havent managed to get a quote on the 2.0 8V yet...

Has anyone ever been insured on a 2.0 8V at 18?

Go for the 1600 on twin 40's, you'll love it!!! the sound is sooo good.

you shouldn't have too much trouble getting insured on a 2.0 8v when you're 18, but it will cost! dont have a clue how much though.

Petrol on my car is shit, I clocked it today and It does 43 miles to ?9. worth of petrol.... and I know that the consumption on a 1600T40 will be worse, the 2.0 8v must be better?

Im willing to pay for the insurance, whatever really, so its just a case of deciding which engine to go for...

The 2.0 8v is from a calibra. The 1600 is from a GSi, 40s off of a Sport etc.

Im tempted towards the 2.0 8V if i can get insured...

43 miles to ?9!!! it sounds like your car is well out of tune, I get more than that(just) with my Evo!!! and that's a 300bhp 2.0 16v turbo!!!

What engine have you got at the moment?

Tuned 1400 Sr lump.

Im getting T40s for it soon. I will get them setup and see how it goes with the petrol.

Im thinking of just leaving the bottom end until it completely dies, bad idea or not?
