Big Problem!!

I have nearly completed my Nova Sport & I have come across a problem!

I have put the Mk2 dash into the car & when it came to putting my headunit in I was soon shouting the F word!

I have an Alpine CVA-1004R, the one with the motorised screen that flips out, but when the I try to bring the screen out it cant go all the way because of the shape of the dash so the screen gets stuck! The stereo is to far back & I need to bring it forward about 1 inch! So that the screen will come out & clear the heater controls etc.

If anyone has done this can they let me know how they fut the screen in, then im nearly done!! :oops:

You need to this:

Get the head unit cage and put that around the head unit. Leave the other cage in the dash. Cut the second cage which is around the head unit, to such a length that the screen operates. Then you will need to fibregalss the second cage so that it looks ok, because it will be sticking out of the dash, and a head unit cage isnt exactly the prettiest thing in the world.

It is possible to fit them in the cold air blowers on the top middle of the dash.

There was one for sale a while ago, look back through the for sale section and PM the guy who made it.

the lad who did it was lee light weight racer he used an audi head unit converter from halfords and filled and smoothed it in

i have got a clock unit for the dash that allows a stereo to fit fitted in the heater vent slots. PM me if you are interested
