FAO anyone who knows about Home TV's....

got got a free 28" tv from a mate,. dont want it, and every so often, 5mins/10mins/20mins it'll change its times when it does it, it just turns intself off, then back on again in a bit, very strange, any ideas what it could be? just replaced the 13amp fuse.

well when it turned itself off one of these many times i wiggled the scart lead in the back and it came back on, so must be a lose wire inside, its been ok for 10 mins so far, touch my wood.

lol its deffo not the 13amp fuse mate like usay its most likely to be a lose connection in side the tv
or does it have ne sleep mode settings on it

dodgy cap in the main power circuitry

you'll need to get a TV engineer out they'll know exactly which cap is faulty just by model and looking at it as its a common fault on older TV's

ive got a 32" that wont power up at all due to that fault and also 2x 17" pc monitors that started doing that and slowly got worse till they wont power up at all
