Ho ho ho more bust rockers!

My mate's got a 1.4SR with only a few mods done to it, exhaust wheels sus kit etc.

Last night he managed to break 3 rockers, 1 spring and snap the top spring seat in half LOL. Dunno where the collets have gone!

I think it may be time for a cam kit and spring seat rocker kit!

Any one else got any experiences like this, lets hear em.

Oh and last time he did this he bent 6valves and bust 2 rockers! Unlucky!

how the hell did he manage that?! or did it just 'happen' like my mates 1.3 which inexplicably blew up when it hit 8000rpm...

mine did that when i revved it to 9000 cant see why though :lol:

Erm,

he often revs it a bit and claims that they are strong motors. Well they are, that was a 6month gap between crunches!

I have done a bit of revving before but not as often as him, I tend to take out bottom ends or head gaskets.

any one else bent a few valves, just bored really and wanna see what other people can do to their cars?

im quite good at breaking cars, i destroyed my 1.2i by bending 3 valves and lots of other things as well, the 1400 when i first had it i cracked the old head clean in half with bent valves as well.
On my 2lt which ive only really had for a bout a week, ive managed to break about 3/4 driveshafts (unbreakable ones :lol: ) Oh ive also gone through a fair amount of gearboxes

when i first got me SR back on the road i snapped 2 rockers and broke 2 valve guides :lol: ended up getting another head :o

think this is one of those times that the "rev limiters are the future" phrase thats going around seems to apply quite strongly ;)

2 conrods straight out of the block ... 4 nice holes in the bottom end
