Fire out of air in take not starting

got my mates new nova 1.4 sri k reg home the other day and tried to start it tappiets broken so we changed them now when we try and start it with the air box off and big flames come out of the injector where the air goes in!! it turns over but it won't kick in and start the annoyin thing is the day b4 we had it runnin and ideas why its doin this and not starting???

Sounds like the firing order is wrong. Ignition firing when inlet valve is open.

check on the dispak for the correct order its stamped on there :)

deffo either the timing is out or the leads are on wrong. i know it sounds stupid but check in the dizzy for moisture cos that made mine spit flames once
