Problem with my 1.2 (need help!)

Hi all,

My 1.2 has done just over 43k, and I havent really done many miles in it since i got it as im still on provisional, but over the past 3 - 4 weeks I've noticed a strong smell of petrol whilst driving, and obviously even stronger once I get out.

I had a brief look whilst the engine was runnin ealier to see if I could see petrol leaking anywhere, but couldnt identify it.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what this may be?
The car more often than not needs choke to start up in the morning or whenever, its G reg 1990.

I suspect something wrong with carb, or needs tuning?

Could be overfueling, or it could be what someone suggested somewhere else.
I think it was Jules:-
summit about the pipes that join the main pertrol lines break down and split, leaking petrol.

If its not that check your over flow and vacume on your tank!

check the jubilee clips are tight on the fuel pipes.
