Nova Front Brake Problem

Hi,
I wonder if you could help me.
My Father-in-Law has a Nova 1000cc (1986).
Every now and then the front wheels will lock up ? it seems as though the Pads are coming on and then not releasing.
Any idea?s for a cure?

if the pads are not coming off does the wheel get hot after driving

it could well be the sliders on the caliper are stickin\ not workin propally my gte used to have the same prob with the caliper sliders stickin

Yes the wheels do get hot - it has even melted the paint on the wheels.
My Father-in-Law is retired so the Nova does not get much mileage.
You said it could be the Sliders- is it just a case of putting a bit of grease on them?

mine just kept happenin and happening no matter how many times i fixed it until i eventualy changed the caliper
but the otherside did it once and fixed it and it never happened again

if its not bin used for a while then i wud have thought just lube em up and it shud be fine
