View Full Version : making 18's fit help
as it says whats the best way to do this, plz help asap
Roll your arch's and get a 49mm offset. Shouldn't have any trouble. But you might have to put spacers on the front
i have coilovers on the front and rear , incase that helps
for wheels as big as that I dont think ET-49 is the best to get. Ask Breeny, he had 18s on his old nova
have you got genuine coilovers on the rear?
if so then youve not really got a chance of getting the width of 18's on without resorting to say a very low 40's offset.
the inner edge of the wheel will catch on the coil/shock.
and on the front too i belive.
but yeah ask breeny. and dont try to do wheel spins with 18's ;)
no it aint proper coilovers on the rear due to spax not doing then, its just like the original set up, seprate spring and damper
you want a 7x18 wheel in an et45 offset
you want 215/35/18 tyres
u want to roll all 4 archs and have them pulled out slightly
thje front arches might also need "cutting up" slightly
rock hard suspension so they dont catch
sorted
p.s. will look like a monster truck and i fail to see the point but with a big bodykit im sure it will look "phat"
good luck

Rolling the arches won't help if you 'drive' it. They need cutting, flaring and pulled out. Mines very tight at the rear but I've had the rear disk conversion and it pulls the hub out slightly more than having drums.
Wheels are ET49, with 215/35's, not a problem at the front, never any scrubage and full lock, backs a little tighter and scrubs on the inner suspension turret slightly with 5mm spacers, 10mm it would never catch.
Coilovers at the front and separate spings/shocks at the rear as the coilovers still managed to catch the tyre on occasions and are fatter than the slimer shocks.
Hope this helps, I drive it everyday so I know it helps if you dont hear CCCRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! all down the road.
cheers al, i bought a car from a mate, he had 18's fitted, so its sorted now,
