reshell work started

After all the babble over the last few months i have finally got off me backside and sorted a new car to transfer my gte into to make it alot lighter. Looked at one sunday, non sunroof, clean with normal usage marks around it. It does have a few small niggles but virtually nothing considering i only paid ?100 for the car still with tax and test. Here's a few pics of what its like.

The aim is to fully weld it inch for inch on the inside and all the engine bay etc etc etc, then completly respray inside and out then transfer every single bit of the gte onto it by end of july if all goes well :!: :D

Got yourself a good starting point there - Thats half the challenge - not many good shells left now - Looking like it could be an ideal street sleeper !!!

the gte shell is also very clean, but the new car in full road trim was already 80kg lighter to start with, thats before i tear its heart out and reduce it by alot more. Looking at gaining 30bhp per ton with new shell. cost of around 500 is my estimated budget. a hell of alot cheaper than trying to get anymore from a reliable good engine.

I will use it alot more for trackdays etc and also other things if i get the chance hence another reason i wanted a non sunroof shell.

lmfao idiots :P . the car will have no tat stuck to it at all. but for an update................ i just bunged it into an mot and it sailed through, didnt even need a bulb. When on ramps i had a good look underneath and its as clean as the rest of the car :D , so me a very happy chappy.
