OK guys, I finally finished a rally without demolishing My car :D . Well almost anyway

Stage 1 - Basically had a go but didn't push too hard, My navigator got lost three bends in but was ok later in the stage. Didn't take any chances as driving blind, 4th fastest 1600 stage time :)

Stage 2 - We were flying along right up untill the time that we broke the N/side drive shaft  . Losing 6 minutes in the process  Only made it around the remaining 9 miles as I have a 90% diff :(

Stage 3 - Fastest 1600 by 6 secs :D

Stage 4 - Strange misfire over 6,500 rpm :(

Stage 5 - 2nd fastest 1600 :D

Stage 6 - Got held up by a 2.0litre mk2 escort, so ended up punting him off under brakeing in to a chicane

Stage 7 - Misfire was back :(

Stage 8 - Misfire cured, fastest 1600 by 21 secs!!! I actually caught and passed the car that won the 1600 class on this stage as well :D 8) :D

I ended up finishing 5th in class, all in all a pretty good day. Shame about the shaft and the misfire but that is rallying for You

Special thanks to Barney for servicing and I hope You recover from the sunburn soon mate

Well I had to have a bit of a go once the first stage was over, oh by the way I forgot to mention that even with the misfire on Stage 7 I was still held up by a 2.0 litre 16v Golf Gti that I also gave a little love nudge to on the way in to a chicane

The merchant banker complained to the organisers, baby  Just because they see a little nova behind them they don't think You can pass them. Well let Me tell you this, there is at least 4 people that will now give a Nova a little more respect in the future. Especially when braking in to a chicane or hairpin, I cannot believe how good My brakes are :o :o

top result mate :D , bet it got stuffy inside the car tho with the temps soaring at the moment :|

Oh Yes, it was hot to say the least. I had the cooling fan on constant whilst out on the stages. Engine temp was thankfully normal all day long though.

It's just a shame My FIA overalls don't have a cooling fan in the crutch area

I went along on sunday, your nova looks lovely. seemed to be going well too. it did pop a lot on overrun, sounded like anti-lag!! we were watchin at the start line for the last couple of stages and saw you come back in with your front bumper missin, then when you started to push i feared the worst. there were some bloody quick novas there, the white and blue 1.4 16v on carbs seemed to be flying, and the all white mk1. i did come over to say hello but it was your co-driver i spoke to.

CP, I wouldn't go that far

It's been a couple of days since the rally now and I've pondered over My performance, the result, the stage times and the car. I am now very confident of a good result on My next event which is on July 31st.

I've got a couple of jobs to do to the car but nothing major, thankfully.

Mr Class winning 1600 16v Civic had better keep one eye in his rear view mirror and the other on the time sheets, BigRuss and his little Nova will be hunting You down like the dog that You are

P.S.
I must not get too wound up about it though, it's only a hobby after all

must not take it too seriously!

quite true...

how many cars did you shunt again? lol

other drivers wen't down the 'tooting you horn for ages' route until the car in front moved over or were able to overtake...

Not Russ
