changed the exhaust on my 1.2i to a full GSi system.
when i took the 1.2 manifold off there was a wire connected to it.. not a clue what for
so i decided fuck it i will see what happens.
now after a few mins of driving the engine light appears to turn on. i turn the engine off for a while start it up and same thing happens after a few mins
any idea pls?
cheers
Thats your lambda sensor! Engine wont run without it-it sends a signal to your ecu about the exhaust fume content. You can drill into the gsi manifold and screw the sensor into it, but make sure you dont drill the hole too big!

so its deffo needed then?
yes its need otherwise its just going to run in limp mode which is just pants
its an M18 thread to drill+tap (better still weld a boss in)
or if your lucky put it in the gsi manifold existing hole

u need to get either a sri manifold or a late model gsi manifold with the lambda hole
ive just fitted a gte system to my bro's 1.2i and used an sri manifold - it all went together perfectly :p
