after being quoted big lizzies to just have the wing, bumper and bonnet resprayed, im thinking of learning summit new and having a go myself!

not done it before, but i think it was on here were i read how to do it, i just want to clarify the method!

-spray a layer of primer, let dry for 25 minutes, then another layer, left dry for 25 minutes, spray 5 layers, then after the 5 layers, leave set for 24 hours

-follow this method with the paint, and the laquer, so 15 layers are sprayed over about 4 and half days!

is this right?

cheerz!

also, preping the bonnet, as its a navy blue, will i have to sand the top layer of paint down so its a merky underlayer kind of surface, or sand it right down to the metal?

cheerz!

inbetween your layers of primer, wet and dry the primer flat so its a smooth surface for the paint.

and if i were you i'd buy a compressor as it works out very expensive usin rattle cans :+: (plus then you have a compressor when you've done)

I agree. I wouldnt suggest it but if you do use cans dont use them to the end as the last bit always splutters and flicks blobs out.

The art of a dcecent spray job is all in the preparation. Any idiot can pick up a can/compressor and spray.

The deciding factor whether a spray job will be good or shit is all in the prep.
