head gasket problem

I am currently fitting a new head gasket, it says its for nova 1.2, i have the 1.2SPI. the gasket cylinder rings are bigger than the old gasket by about 1 or 2 mm. is this a revised gasket or have i got the wrong one?

forget what it looks like against the old gasket..... what does it look like against the block????

chances are the old gasket is wrong, which could explain why you are swapping it. the 1.3 gasket is slightly smaller bore than the 1.2 gasket.

1.2 carb has larger bore than 1.2spi

so u need the smaller gasket for 1.2i
